Snerting/touch
Cablesoup at Reykjavík City Hall, February, 2023.
Reykjavík, Iceland.

CABLE SOUP

Snerting/touch is an installation consisting of a plywood pedestal, a kinetic sculpture, a drawing and an oil painting of a fingertip. The work explores sensory responses in fingertips and the sense of touch. The kinetic sculpture is made up of two mixed-material arms that slowly move back and forth over a smooth surface, and deteriorate over the duration of the exhibition.

Exhibition text:

Electricity flows through everything: inside us, through the machines that are extensions of our bodies, underneath our feet and above our heads, through animals and plants; in cables, cords, nerves, lines, wires. Communication: electric. Memories: electric. Movement: electric.

Existence is cable soup.

Artists: Andri Björgvinsson, Atli Bollason, Hákon Bragason, Patricia Carolina, Sean Patrick O’Brien, Una Sigtryggsdóttir, Þorsteinn Eyfjörð.

The exhibition was part of the Winter Lights Festival in Reykjavík City Hall.
